Our Lady of the Miracles Court 407 at our Parish

Last weekend our Parish celebrated the installation of Our Ladys of the Miracles Court 407 of the Knights of St. Peter Claver Ladys Auxiliary.

The Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. is the largest historically African-American Catholic lay organization in the United States. The Order is named for St. Peter Claver, the Spanish Priest who ministered to African slaves. The Order was founded in Mobile, Alabama and is presently headquartered in New Orleans.

Our purpose is to render service to God and His Holy Church, render aid and assistance to the sick and disabled, and promote social and intellectual association among our members.

Here are some introductory words from Ms. Dennie Foster:

“Finally, after many invitations over the last 20 years to join St. Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary I joined and 15 ladies from our Parish also joined to form the newly installed ‘Our Lady of the Miracles – Court 407’  of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. Peter Claver. So, In the Memory of Ruth Watts & Delores Haynes – Thank you.”

These are the ladies of our Parish that joined: Nia, Dennie, Doris, Elaine, Florestine, Ina, Maggie, Suekumarie, Susan, Nora, Shelia, Iris, Lissette, Patricia, Carroll, Manisie
